We're not superstitious
Thirteen years ago Danny and I were married in the Los Angeles Temple for Time and Eternity.
It really was a great day. I look at these pictures and of course I wish that I could still look that young, and as for Danny, he was really handsome but I think men age really well and he is even more handsome now with a little gray hair. In fact I think his gray hair is really sexy and I hope he never tries to color it. I can't believe it has been thirteen years and even though our streak of bad luck at the beginning of the year might discourage some, we truly feel a great sense of peace and calm. The Lord has truly blessed us and we recognize that even though these are rough times for our family, we are experiencing exactly what the Lord has designed for us so that we can grow and get to where we are supposed to be. I have never felt closer to Danny than I do at this time. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband.
Okay, so enough of the mushy stuff. I looked up what gift this anniversary was supposed to be and it said lace or a modern version would be textiles. So I guess it is appropriate that we decided to buy new bedding. I know it sounds like a weird thing to do for an anniversary but we decided that because we are so broke that if we were going to spend any money it should be on something we needed anyway. So we are being practical but to spice things up Danny suggested we could then break them in later tonight. hehehe

Mommy Brain
I know that moms always have things on their minds but mine runs really wild during pregnancy, especially at 3:00am. I thought I would share all things that have been running through my mind in the last couple of days.
Oh I guess I need to pee again.
You really should try and go back to sleep because even though its the weekend you know the kids will be up by 7:00 and why is it that Audrie will be up at 7 tomorrow but come Monday, she won't be able to get out of bed?
Maybe a cute princess alarm clock will get her excited to wake up?
This year is almost over. Just wait and get her one for next year.
You really do need to fill out those registration forms for the new school and turn those in.
Also you need to turn in Reed's baptism program
He really needs a new white shirt before then as well as a Scout Shirt.
Should I just give the same talk that I used for Paige's baptism?
Conference was really great today.
Our Anniversary is this week. What should we go do?
Maybe I can convince Danny that we should buy new sheets for our bed.
I would really love to get this room decorated before baby time.
White sheets?
Well maybe that depends on the quilt you use? What color should I use on the walls?
What goes with ugly purple carpet?
Maybe I should just stick to beige colors:
Oh how boring!
Should I try and make my own upholstered head board?
That sure would be a lot of work but then we have never had a headboard.
What color should I do for the head board?
Maybe I could recover my chair in the same fabric and it would be nice if Danny could fix that chair so I can have place to nurse this next baby.
Curtains would look really great too.
White?
White.
I need to get a sitter.
Oh no I have Achievement Days on Wednesday.
I need to buy materials for them to finish up their babysitting kits and Paige has a choir performance right after so you better be on top of it that day.
I really would like to decorate Reed's room hopefully this baby will be a boy so they can share a room. It sure would be fun to decorate a boy nursery.
Oh yah, decorating takes money.
but the house sure looks terrible lately
I guess a good spring cleaning is in order and that doesn't cost money.
But I am really not in the mood to clean.
I'm way to tired.
I really need to get in to see the doctor.
I hope Paige isn't getting sick.
Don't forget to call and invite everyone to the baptism.
What should I make for the luncheon afterward?
Should I buy a new dress and get my hair done?
Should I go blonde? How Short should I cut it?
I don't know what I want. I guess I'll wait.
Wheat is on sale. I should probably buy a couple of buckets.
We're out of oil, cereal, milk, bread,
blah
blah blah
Zzzzzzzzz

White boys can't dance
This is Reed's 2nd grade program. It was about popular music through the decades. Reed's class danced to the 90's. It was a really cute program. I only wish I could have gotten better video. The end part was really great when he was up in the front doing some cool moves on the floor, but some guy's big head got in the way and I missed it.

Thinking Positive Thoughts
Many of you already know but some may not know that Danny was laid off from his job about 2 weeks ago. This came as a huge surprise as they did not give us any notice. We have been really stressed out trying to figure out what to do. After Danny received a blessing from his dad, fasted, and spent a day at the Temple he has decided to start his own bookkeeping business from home. It is something we have talked about doing for a long time but with his full time job he never felt like he had the time to do it. Even though we know we are in for some rough times and we are afraid of not having insurance to deliver this baby, we are trying to think positively about all this and are hoping it all works out. We appreciate everyones concern and prayers in our behalf and if any of you know of someone in need of bookkeeping and tax services please let us know. Thanks.

Happy Birthday Reed!
Reed is our one and only boy(for now that is) and what a joy he is to us. He turned 8 today and had a really fun Spy party with his friends. He is also really excited to get baptized in just a few weeks. We love to tease him about being the only boy but it doesn't seem to bother him. He is a great brother and when he is not tormenting the girls he can actually be quite protective of them.
One of my favorite stories about Reed happened when he was only about 2 years old. We were out running errands all day and I had to go to one last store. It was the Home Depot and for some reason my kids hate that store and even the little ones recognize the orange sign and immediately whine about wanting to go home. Anyway on this day he was really getting tired of shopping and I told him we only had to get one thing and that it was going to be super fast. I told him we needed weed killer. He got really quiet and then started to to cry. Please don't kill me mommy. I guess Reed and Weed sound the same to a 2 year old.
As you can see from the pictures, Reed is a bit of a ham. We usually can't get a decent picture even though he is the most photogenic kid. When we happen to catch a calm shot of him they are always really awesome pics but he usually just gives us silly faces and that is what I love about these pics. They really capture everything Reed is about. I guess Fun and Silly would sum it up.
Reed is really into basketball right now and went to a Jazz game with his dad and grandpa last night. He also wants to be a drummer. His favorite thing to do is listen to his mp3 player and tap out the beat. Reed's best subject in school is math and his teacher says he is far ahead of the other kids when it comes to math. Well what else can I say? He is just an overall fun kid and our family wouldn't be the same without him. We Love you Reed!
