Party Girls

This past weekend was full of parties for the little girls. It was so fun to see all of their excitement. Meridee was invited to a Halloween Party. It was her very first party invitation and so you can imagine how special that made her feel. Aida turned 3 on Saturday. I think that turning three is so much fun. It was the first time I think she actually grasped the idea of a Birthday party. Even though it was just a family party we made invitations for her to deliver to each of her siblings. She put them on their pillows while they were at school. I also made her a cute shirt with a big 3 on it for her to wear(thanks for the idea Shanda). Grandma and Grandpa Nordstrom also came over and she had some cousins visiting who joined us as well. She was so excited. For the first time she knew exactly what to do with the gifts and the excitement in her face as she unveiled each gift was priceless and then she gave hugs to each person and said thank you. She was way too cute. We made some really yummy cupcakes that I ate way to many of and they sure looked cute too. Baking and decorating the cupcakes was fun and easy. I'm actually considering a little business making cupcakes. Might be kind of fun and easy way to earn a few extra dollars. I'm only considering it because I could probably do it after kids are all in bed. Anyway we'll see. Right now I am drowning in housework and enjoying the time that I have to just sit and hold Tanner. Well that was our fun weekend. Next weekend will not be so fun. I am having my wisdom teeth pulled. Yuck!

Stop complaining

Well I know everyone is wondering why there aren't more pictures on here yet. Well I don't know why you are complaining because you should all know that we take a million pictures with the first child and that the last kid usually gets jipped in the picture department and that is no exception here. I just haven't taken that many yet. I am still try to catch up on sleep and the nursing hasn't been going that great either. We pretty much sit on the couch all day and try to figure out the nursing thing. Shouldn't this be easier. Mothers in the animal kingdom give birth and nurse their babies without issues like sore nipples, breast infections, and stitches. Anyway here are a few more pictures from birth day and I promise to take more pictures. Tanner is just too special to not get his fair share of pictures. So stay tuned.

Big Entrance

This is our sweet little Tanner Ryan Nordstrom. He was born on Tuesday September 17th @6:00pm. Yes I did have to wait one more night in my own bed but it was worth the wait. He is my biggest baby weighing in at 9 lbs. and 2 oz. His size plus his position made for quite the delivery. I usually only have to push for about 20 minutes but this time it took over 2 1/2 hrs. It was the most exhausting and painful delivery I've had but I am just so happy he is here and I couldn't be more excited. I'll try and post more soon but for now I am trying to rest as much as possible.

Yes, I'm still here!

So here is the update on baby time. I have been dilated to 3 for almost 2 weeks now. Every night I have contractions and think that this could be it but then I go to bed and wake up the next morning a little disappointed that nothing happened. So each day I would come up with something to do to pass the time because it couldn't possibly crawl by any slower. I am so ready and the time really seems to be going by slowly. I really have been trying to enjoy every last little bit of this pregnancy but that is becoming more and more difficult. I am truly exhausted and my body aches all the time but I'm trying not to complain too much. So I have really been nesting like crazy to pass the time. I have scrubbed all the baseboards in the house and cleaned under every bed. Organized Most cupboards and closets and now have a huge pile of stuff to take to DI. Painted and hung a shelf in the boys room. Packed my bags. Stocked the shelves full of groceries. Made a receiving blanket. Washed about 10 loads of dirty laundry. Cleaned the bathrooms. Pruned some lilacs and trees out back. Made some cute hair bands and clips for the girls. Attended a Surprise Baby Shower (Thanks to all my in-laws, Danny and kids for planning it). I am feeling a little guilty that I didn't do my visiting teaching this month but I did plan and carry out two Achievement Day activities last week. One of which was the Daddy/Daughter Night. Any way there is so much more but I won't bore you with the rest. So now that I have completely worn my self out I will be going in to the hospital today to be induced and would you believe I'm still thinking of things I could do today while I wait for a room to become available? But I do think I'll rest today and there better be a room for me today because I really don't know what I'll do if I wake up in my bed one more time!!!! And if one more person asks me why I'm still around I just might scream!!!!!!!

Last Time Around

When I found out that I was pregnant this time around I finally felt like we were done having babies and so I vowed to make this pregnancy special. I wanted to try and remember everything about it and enjoy each part. It has been a little hard to enjoy it the last couple of months but we are nearing the end and I realized that I had never taken a picture of my pregnant belly with any of the other pregnancies. So that is why I had Danny take these pictures for me. I felt kind of silly but they really are just for me anyway. I'm sharing them now but don't count on seeing them again. They won't be blown up and hung on my wall anywhere because I realize that I'm not the cutest pregnant lady out there. They are really just for me. To remind of what it was like being pregnant. They aren't professional pictures or anything but I think they turned out quite nice. I'm glad I did it.

Don't Worry Be Happy

Yesterday was our first day of school. It was really exciting and the kids couldn't wait to get out the door in the morning. They are going to a new school this year and I have been worried about them making new friends and liking the choice we made to send them to the charter school but they really seem to be great with it. Audrie was a little nervous to walk in alone so I walked her to her classroom but once she saw her teacher she didn't even look back to see me leave. Her teacher is Mrs. Hatch and our next door neighbor so she really felt comfortable but it was long day for her. Audrie is in the first grade and she looked pretty tired when she got home but said she made some new friends. Reed is in the third grade and has a really nice teacher Mrs. Seeley. He was really excited as well and made some new friends. I really haven't been worried about Reed because his neighbor and best friend Spencer also goes to school there. Paige is in the fifth grade and I have been the most worried about her. She had been at the other school for so long and had lots of good friends that she was leaving behind. Plus she was giving me a really hard time about wearing ugly uniforms. I don't blame her though because I kind of missed shopping for cute outfits too, but in the end she came home happy. She said she made 4 new friends right away. I don't know why I worry because she is so good at making friends and being kind to everyone. So I think I can leave my worries behind and thank goodness I didn't have a kindergartener this year or I probably would have been in tears for sure. Over all it was a good day but a very busy one. The two little girls and I had the whole day to ourselves. I haven't had a day with only two kids in years. Too bad it will only last a few more weeks and then I'll be back to 3 little ones to look after all day. So the little girls had doctors appointments and they each got caught up on their immunizations so it was a little rough because they didn't feel good most of the day but we went to the store (which actually went well as you all know I don't take kids to the store) and bought some play dough and had lunch at the park so I think that made up for it. The kids got off to school this morning without a hitch and it is just the little girls and I again. I'm not sure what to do with the quiet but It sure is nice. I am truly happy that summer is over and we are back to learning and routines. I love going back to school.
